Yes, I like greenskins so it is hard to pass up videos featuring them. Especially as I’m trying to finish my Dread Mob and start the Ork Blood Bowl Team. What I like about Em’s tutorial on painting these red Orruk Ironjawz Brutes is how simple each step is, yet the finished model looks great. Below I embed the video from Warhammer TV where Em steps through each part of the miniatures and gives some great tips from using different types of washes to highlighting the bone spikes with lines. Blending is the technique of transitioning one color of paint to another, with wet blending being a particular style that involves adding layers while the paint is still wet. In today’s Watch This, I feature AG Productions’ video on wet blending. While the hot thing lately is to use airbrushes to create super smooth blends and highlights, wet blending has been around for a long time. It works great for those who like to use brushes or in tight spots that an airbrush would be difficult to get in to. The Silver Tower came with a lot of books, but they are a common addition to Librarians, Grey Knights, Wizards, and all sorts of book lovers. Some seem some amazingly done books and parchments done by awards winning painters. For the rest of us getting started with it, Victor Ques made a nice video on painting books. This how-to guide to painting books doesn’t get fancy or use an airbrush. In fact, Victor only uses a few colors to achieve a fantastic result. With today’s Watch This, we haveÂ Kuro Cleanbrush Minis who shows off some nice tips. Sometimes it can be easier to watch someone show off a technique through a video than through pictures. Another new video is ready for Watch This series, this week is with Designer Warfare and painting Tablescape Tiles from Secret Weapon Miniatures. He paints up a few sections of the Urban RoadÂ (Clean and Damaged) with his airbrush for our enjoyment. I’ve been looking at picking up some of these Tablescape Tiles for my own gaming table and found this video super helpful. Here we have Dave G. from Wargaming Tradecraft showing you his method of painting this notoriously difficultÂ color. So without further ado, check out Dave’s video but check out my notes below. Painting White Using Layers Steps for Painting White After watching the video myself I’ve put together my set of notes on his technique. I hope this cheat sheet can be useful as a handy reference to his video. While not something many of us would need to add onto our models, the techniquesÂ he shows should be helpful for many sculpting projects.
